How do I reinstall Office 2003?
My computer crashed and I need to reinstall Office 2003. I originally
downloaded it from the Microsoft website. I have the key/registration number, but I can't find anywhere on the site to use it! Please help. Liz |

How do I reinstall Office 2003?
You can't download it anywhere. And that's why you can't find out where to
use the product key. You will have to pay Microsoft for CDs. It'll cost you about $30 (that's what it was about two years ago - prices may have risen). http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246 -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "lizard" wrote in message ... I have the key/registration number, but I can't find anywhere on the site to use it! Please help. Liz Unless the CD key you have was provided through MSDN or Miicrosoft Technet, and you actually downloaded it as a member of MSDN or Technet, you never had a legitimate copy of Office 2003 in the first place. I advise you to purchase a new copy from Microsoft or another retailer. Why? 1) The only way to download Microsoft Office legitimately is by becoming a member of the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) or Microsoft Technet. 2) There is one other possible way to download it legitimately. By purchasing it through Microsoft's MarketPlace, on their website. I'm not sure, however, that Microsoft even offers it for sale through their online MarketPlace. Any other ways to download it are illegitimate and if you did it outside of Microsoft, you are a software pirate. By the way, the Installation key has nothing to do with "Registration", so it is not a "registration number". "Registration" of a MIcrosoft product is completely unnecessary. "Activation" is absolutely necessary, and it is not possible to accomplish this without the original installation key (Product ID/CD key). Please do not take my words as condemnation or accusation, since they are not intended for that purpose. I am simply passing on the education I myself received at one time or another. -- Donald L McDaniel ======================================= |

How do I reinstall Office 2003?
You have skipped the most obvious answer to the OP's question.
He downloaded a trial version of Office 2003 when it was the most currently available version of Office and purchased a key to convert it to a full retail version. Many people don't burn the downloaded files to a CD for later reinstallation as they don't think that far ahead. Presuming that the OP had a non-legitimate version is a bit over-reaching. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
