Contact Customisation
Hiya, I am a new user of Outlook 2003 and am trying to
figure out how to setup my contacts....The contact view shows I have 2 Contact lists under My Contacts. I have Contacts and Contacts in Personal Folders. Both of these locations have the same contacts. How do I change it so that only my contacts in personal folders are shown and also that the other one is deleted to free up space..As I am assuming I only need the one section |

Hi, As a quick update, it seems that my calendar uses,
any dates for Birthdays & Anniversaries from my contacts in personal folders... Therefore what I would like to do, is have calendar & contacts referencing my personal folder. Only thing I am not sure of, is that I sync my PDA via activesync & I cant tell which calendar/Contacts it uses.. Any help would be appreciated -----Original Message----- Hiya, I am a new user of Outlook 2003 and am trying to figure out how to setup my contacts....The contact view shows I have 2 Contact lists under My Contacts. You've left out too much information for anyone to help you.
Outlook does not show two Contacts Folders unless you've configured it to do so, even if you did so inadvertently. Tell us how you did this. I'm suspicious you migrated data incorrectly. How many Personal Folders Files do you have in this profile? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "John Venables" wrote in message ... Let's make sure that is the case, first. Your post is confusing. I don't
know what you mean by Contacts labeled Personal Folders. Use the Folder List view (icon at the bottom of the Navigation Pane) to display your entire Folder tree. This is getting more troubling all the time. Apparently you are using an
Exchange mailbox as your information store. Why do you also have 2 sets of Personal Folders in your Profile? Most Exchange administrators prefer not to use Personal Folders with Exchange. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message ... okay, there is quite a few folders. It is not necessary to have a Personal Folders file when running against
Exchange, let alone 2 of them. How did those get there? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "John Venables" wrote in message ... Contact Customisation
Hi,
The only thing I can think of for one of them, is the fact that I added a new datafile temporarily to look at some old email & the other one I assume is because when I installed Outlook 2003, that I linked my account to my PST file stored on my laptop... How do I go about getting rid of everything, but keep one set of contacts and calendar.....So that my PDa will sync with it..
