Default Archiving

I have set my AutoArchive to archive items older than 45 days, yet I still
see deleted and sent items that are much older than that in my current,
active folders. I'm receiving messages from the administrator of my network
that my mailbox is over its size limit, so this is kind of a pressing matter.
I want AutoArchive to run automatically and to archive these old items, yet
it doesn't seem to be working correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Check the Modified date on the items that aren’t being archived as you think
they should. That’s the date Outlook uses to determine whether or not an
item is ready to be AutoArchived, and a simple action such as moving the item
to another folder can change the Modified date. More information and a list
of actions that change the Modified date can be found he
