If you enter, for example, into a cell it will be recognised as an email address and turned into a mailto: hyperlink. If you subsequently enter a formula into the same cell, without clearing the cell first then the hyperlink will still be attached to the cell. thanks, but that is not the issue......no email addresses are
initially entered, just a formula, say "+r5*.05".....it places the value in the dcell, but it makes it a hyprtlink to an email...its driving me crazy On Sun, 29 Aug 2004 11:17:49 +0100, Bill Manville wrote: Mark Kennedy wrote: occasionally when I entre a formula in a cell, the result is entreed in the ell as a hyperlink which seems to open an email window. Hi Mark,
Is it possible that you have a combination of characters that you once wanted to be changed to an @ sign. Check Tools, Autocorrect to see if you have an @ sign in any of the substitutions wanted. --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "Mark Kennedy" wrote in message ... thanks, but that is not the issue......no email addresses are initially entered, just a formula, say "+r5*.05".....it places the value in the dcell, but it makes it a hyprtlink to an email...its driving me crazy On Sun, 29 Aug 2004 11:17:49 +0100, Bill Manville wrote: Mark Kennedy wrote: occasionally when I entre a formula in a cell, the result is entreed in the ell as a hyperlink which seems to open an email window.
