Print the markup, not reviewing pane (pain)
Please, how can I not print the reviewing pane, but still print the markup?
I'm printing markup (tracked changes) of my Word 2002 doc, but every time I print my document or any single page of it, it prints the entire reviewing pane, which is many pages long. I'm trying to print a bunch of copies for my class every week, and just to get a few copies of the short, marked-up document itself, having to print hundreds of unneeded pages of the reviewing pane. I've read the MS instructions, as well as Shauna Kelly's site, but haven't found any reference to this problem. That is, even afeter I turn off the reviewing pane from displaying, it still prints. It seems that if I want to print the markup, I have to take the reviewing pane in the printout, too? Well, that's not good. The reviewing pane is a pain. It is one of those MS features that I'd like to rip out like a rotten tooth, cremate it, scatter the ashes in deep space, and cauterize the wound with a blowtorch. If only I could. --Evan |

What is in the Reviewing Pane aside from markup? Comments?

Print the markup, not reviewing pane (pain)
The reviewing pane does not contain the markup. Rather it is a separate
window, listing--on a full line for every alteration--the page, the action, the text, the maker, the date, and the time. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... Print the markup, not reviewing pane (pain)
I confess I have little experience of printing marked-up documents, but when
I did this in Word 2002, I don't believe I got this result. Perhaps you would find the use of balloons more acceptable, given that this information is included in the balloon? -- Suzanne S. Print the markup, not reviewing pane (pain)
Thanks. I am using markup, which means by default the balloons. The
question is, how can I stop the reviewing pane from printing? I gather from what you wrote that you printed a marked up document and the reviewing pane did not print. That's good to know! Now maybe someone can help me with settings or whatever I might need to modify. By the way, my markup balloons display only the action and the text. Do your balloons also display the page, the maker, the date, and the time? Please understand my situation. Yes, almost anything would be more acceptable than having to print the entire document's reviewing pane every time I print a marked up page. That is the problem I'm facing. Yes, it would be more acceptable for me not to have this problem. The question is how to resolve the problem. Because this is a problem with the reviewing pane, I suspect that a person who can help resolve it probably will know what the reviewing pane is. Thanks though for your efforts! --Evan "Suzanne S.
