Document Stuck in Printer Que
Hi,
Not sure if I'm in the right newsgroup for my problem. I have a document always showing in the print queue for my printer, but I know that it is no longer there because I can print other documents. Even after rebooting my computer it still shows 1 document in control panel/printers. Is there a way to set it back to 0? Now when I want to print, everything defaults to printing in color. Eventhough I change it back to all black and hit apply, it doesn't stay there. Next time I open my web browser and I want to print something it defaults back to color. This also happens in Outlook. It may be related to the document that is stuck in the print queue defaulting back to the printer preferences for that particular document. I'm at a loss on where to start on correcting this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Hans Crump |

Sounds like two problems...
First problem..... Try canceling the job. If it stays in the "canceling" state, Try opening the Services Control Panel and stopping the Print Queue. Then start it back up. That should free things up. Worst case, you need to fine the print queue directory and empty the queues manually. Second problem:.... Changing the properties of a printer from within the application will never stick. It always goes back the defaults. You have to go into the printer properties and make the changes there. Then the changes will be picked up when an app prints to the printer. -- Regards, Hank Arnold "Hans Crump" wrote in message ... Hi, Not sure if I'm in the right newsgroup for my problem.
