forms are stored where they are published - if you published them to a
folder, just drag the folder to the new pst. (If you look on the actions
menu when you have a folder open, you'll see the forms that are stored in
the folder listed on the menu. Those forms will move with the folder if

you
move or copy it to another pst.) In fact, while it's more time consuming
than import/export, you can create a new pst using file, new., outlook

data
file and drag folders from the old pst to the new. I'm pretty sure view

that
were created for 'this folder' only will move with the folder, just as

forms
do. Views created for all folders won't get moved this way.

AFAIR, forms not published to folders need to be republished to the new

pst,
but it's been so long since I had to make a new pst that I could be wrong.

I think your right...am going to try to rebuild a fresh pst file...along
with rules and views...how do you transfer custom forms between outlook
files.../...my main contacts form is a custom form and I want to move

that
between files. Where are the custom forms stored in outlook ?

Thanks, Tim

That probably means whatever is causing problems with it is also
affecting
outlookspy's ability to delete. Is there anything in the folder? (Look

with
olspy and delete them first.)

http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2005/up050317.htm#rules has a method for
copying views. It's a somewhat PITA process, especially if you have

many
views, but at this point, it's probably faster than trying to delete

the
folder that refuses to go away.

You just need to hit delete since its a folder...

Work your way through the folder hierarchy to find the folder.

Select
it
and
click the delete button.
It should like this - just click that Delete button.

Dianne...scanpst did not help..I downloaded outlookspy...got into
the
right
area but when I hit "ImsgSto:Abort Submit" per the

instructions...I
get
the following error window:

ImsgSto:Abort Submit () returned MAPI_E_NOT_IN_QUENE

I click OK...close window per instructions...click delete per
instructions
and then get the following error:

IMAPIFolder:eleteMessages() returned MAPI_E_EXTENDED_ERROR

Close all outlookspy windows..close outlook and uninstall
outlookspy...but
folder and individual messages are still undeletable ?

Is there a way to delete the folder without sending it to the
deleted
items
folder ?

assuming you've already tried scanpst... try outlookspy.

http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm has instructions

on
using
it
to delete items in folders - the steps are sorta the same but
you'll
want
the hierarchy table, not the contents table tab.

Thanks Dianne...but I have a problem that I can't fix...I have

a
folder
in
outlook that I can't delete....I get either an "unknown error"

or
can't
delete..."may not have permission". I am a single user in

internet
mode
and
have no permissions set

If I export the pst file...I can then delete this troublesome
folder...but
all my rules have to be reentered and my views are gone ?

Any ideas on how to get rid of this folder...my over all pst
files
is
about
256,500 kb

Thanks

instead of exporting it, just copy the pst. it's located at
C:\Documents
and
Settings\username\Local Settings\Application

Data\Microsoft\Outlook

BTW, you can just use file, open, outlook data file for the
exported
copy -
views that are in the original pst that are set for 'any

folder'
should
work.

When backing up my outlook.pst file via the export

command...I
find
that
if
I try to recover using the exported file (rename original
outlook.pst
to
outlook.ps_ and the exproted file to outlook.pst)...I get

all
folders
and
messges in the backup but my rules come back with all
"unspecified"
folders
in the move to commands, and, all my previous custom views

are
gone.

Is there a way I can maintain the complete rules files and

custom
views
I
have set up in my original outlook.pst in my exported

'backup'
copy
of
outlook.pst ?

Thanks,
Tim
