It's a Word feature. You can't really get rid of it. You can prevent Ctrl+Shift+E from toggling it by reassigning Ctrl+Shift+E. Look at the status bar at the bottom of the Word window. It will show whether tracking it turned on. To remove it from that document, click/double-click (depends on Word version) to turn tracking off.
