Default Possible to "fill" a semicircle in Visio 2000 ???

I have VISIO 2000. I have drawn several semi circles and would like
to "fill" or paint the inside of the semi circles with different
colors.

Since they are not "closed" shapes, I have been unable to find a way
to fill.

Is there some special trick I am missimg??

Thanks.

Visio can only fill closed regions. You need to close the semi circle. It
is possible to hide a portion of the geometry though. In the Shapesheet,
find the geometry row you want to hide, right-click and change the row type
to Move To.

Not special - simple. The telling takes far more than the few mouse-clicks
of the doing.

Draw circle.
Bisect with line that passes beyond circumference on both sides.
Select both circle and line (hold Shift and click on each in turn).
Menu item: Shape / Operations / Trim.
Select both required semicircle and line.
Menu Item: Shape / Operations / Join (Now closed object can be filled)
Delete extraneous semi circle and line fragments.

Place hands on head, lean back and admire your brilliant achievement.
