Right Click on a Newsgroup Photo...Changing D/L File Location
I wish to change the default location where, when I right-click a photo
downloaded from a newsgroup, the photo is saved in a location that I desire. Every time I right-click, the photo attempts to save in "My Pictures". Of course, once I save the first photo to my desired location, the rest are no problem, as long as my computer is NOT switched off. So, HOW DO I CHANGE THE DEFAULT SETTING TO SAVE A PHOTO FROM A NEWSGROUP TO ANOTHER, DESIRED, LOCATION???? I have tried the regedit method, but to NO avail...There has to be more to it!! Thanks, FL Kulchar |

You made the global change for special folders in Windows and it didn't do what you wanted? Or you made a change for OE's default folder via the registry and it doesn't hold? Have you checked for updates on Windows Update recently for OE related ones? Next, take the caps lock key and throw it away. |

I asked you some questions on what you have tried to try to get you to be a bit more specific as to which registry hack you've tried and whether you have updated OE recently. But you reply with it being no help. Well wake up bucko, you're not being of any help what so ever. Good luck in finding help as I won't be giving you any. |

My apologies...Let me be more specific, and then, maybe, should you deem it
prudent, be of some help. Nothing has been updated; all I have tried tom do was to go to regedit, HKEY -CURRENT USER,Identities, (my spec. ID),Software, Microsoft, Outlook Express, 5.0, then, in the right pane, ab...save attachment path...then enter my desired default location.. After all of that, still DOES NOT WORK!! Can you be of assistance? Thank you, Larry "DGuess" wrote: "FLKULCHAR" wrote in message ... Actually, I can live with the whole thing...it is NOT OE, as I get the same
result via AOL similar type stuff. I would, however, love to be able to be able to change the dl folder out of "My Pictures" Surely, there must be a way; however, I believe the regedit method is NOT the proper m.o....or, I need to find the default command within the registry. By the way, what was meant by throwing away the caps lock key? Thanks again, Larry "PA Bear" wrote: Windows version? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE) & Security FLKULCHAR wrote: I wish to change the default location where, when I right-click a photo downloaded from a newsgroup, the photo is saved in a location that I desire.
