My computer was stolen, but I purchased a student version of Office 2007.
How can I get the license code so I can activate it on the new computer,
without having to call and pay $265, which is more than I paid for Office??
I may have gone to the wrong place, but that was the only phone number I
could find.

I assume you meant you purchased & installed Office 2007 on your stolen PC,
if that is the case and you have proof of purchase
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326246
But what happened to your Office 2007 dvd? the licence key is on the case
Presumable the theft wasnt covered on any insurance policy?

It was already installed on the computer when I bought it with the 60-day
trial. All did was go online and buy an activation code. I didn't write
the activation code down, though, because, silly me, I didn't anticipate
someone stealing e computer. Go figure. Does that make sense?

failing to provide satisfactory proof ( the registration info, your
registration name, date, email address...) and insurance coverage, you can
always download a trial version and hope for a promotion arrive before the
trial end

Niether did you anticipate your laptop failing, which would have had the
same result
Assuming you purchased via Digital River visit their web site & see if they
can help

Next time you purchase software online, save/burn the installation file to
disk, keep copies of the key & the purchase receipt

Good advice. I always print out software registrations that I purchase
online and file
them, and write down store purchased numbers and file them as well. I
rarely have to
ask for my registration code.
