Installing office when you have no CD drive
I just purchased Home and Student edition. My new computer has the trial
version which is Office Professional. From reading various posts, I gather that the best way to install the new license is to first uninstall the trial version. Then install the new purchase. The problem is that the purchase came in CD format. My little hp laptop does not have a CD drive. Is there a way to load the software online and then enter the product key to activate the software? Thank you. Satish |

Installing office when you have no CD drive
Do you have another computer? If not, do you have a friend with a computer
with a CD drive? If yes, ask the friend to copy the complete Office CD to their hard drive and then copy it to a thumb drive. Use that to install on your laptop. You might want to buy a USB optical drive since you will need it to install other software besides Office. You can find them for very little money - usually less than $50. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. ALWAYS post your Outlook version.
