Templates Word 2007 Refresh Content Control Fields
I am creating a template in Word 2007 with content controls. If I open the
template to use it and then save it as .doc I lose the ability to use that form over say if I want to do 5 of the same forms with different info one right after the other. Do I always have to re-open the template to refresh it or is there some way I can reactivate the template controls after saving it as a document? Thanks! |

Templates Word 2007 Refresh Content Control Fields
You're not supposed to open the template and save the edited file as
..doc. You should use the New command, not the Open command, and choose the template as the basis for the new document. Then the template itself will never change -- the content controls will always be empty in each new document to start with. That's the way templates have always worked in Word. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
