refedit.exd
Hi,
We use Application Redirection for the roaming profiles on the terminal server server (Windows Server 2003 R2). This works well. However, there is one problem. Within the profile directory the Application Data directory is created again with one file: RefEdit.exd. I assume it has something to do with Excel 2003. I do not want this file to be created there. What should I do to prevent creating this file? Is there any way to change the default location? Deleting the files does not help. It is created over and over again. We use Office 2003 Enterprise SP3 on the terminal server. Regards, Alexander |

Hello Alex, You may try to solve the problem by searching for all .EXD files(*.exd) and renaming(instead of deleting) them. Then test if the issue still occurs. If not, go ahead to delete all .EXD files you found. Sometimes resetting up your user profile solves the issue too. ".Exd Files Are Created When You Insert Controls" http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;158875 Hope this helps. Sincerely, Robbin Meng Microsoft Online Newsgroup Support |

Same problem in same environment. I do not understand why renaming the files should solved the problem : the files might not be created in the roaming profiles because there is a redirection folder applied to the AppData. So, all the files must be redirected too when created. Could someone explain us why Excel continues to create files witin the profile directory ?

Please post your query again using this link:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...c.office.setup Please state what your problem is and what error messages you get on the screen. Don't you ever say something like: "Same problem in same environment" because this means absolutely nothing to people who can't see the full history of messages pertaining to this particular problem. If you can't bother to post again then you can use this link to your dick! news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.test.here hth "S. Le Bourdais" / wrote in message ...
