Email headers missing when printing with IE7 installed: Hotfix
X-post to IE General, OL General, OE General and OE6 newsgroups.
The e-mail message header does not print when you try to print an e-mail message by using either Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook Express (Hotfix) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931657 (17 Feb-07) QP To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Customer Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support Note: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question. /QP Translation: If you call for this hotfix, ask for it by KB number (931657), state that you have IE7 installed, and that OE/OL headers aren't printing. If you don't ask any other questions (literally), the hotfix will be provided to you without charge. This hotfix will be included in the next Cumulative Update or Roll-up for IE7. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) |

They should provide a link to download it without having to call up for the
thing. Especially given the severity of the problem and the amount of trouble it has caused people, as evidenced by the number of threads dealing with this issue in these various newsgroups. Don't expect an answer to email. Yes I saw that OK but not "will be included in the next Cumulative Update or Roll-up for IE7" as mentioned in PA Bear's post. The long-term fix in Article 931657 seems to be the next service pack. No real problem but a simple download would have avoided either calling MS or waiting for the service pack, which I think is also Steve's point. Roger |
