Default Troubleshoot grammar, in Word XP

It seems when using Office XP and using grammar check that even though a
sentence may not be grammatically correct the green wavy lines
underneath do not appear - i seem to remember that this happened quite
a lot in previous versions. Does anyone know the maximum numbers of
words checked for grammar in the most recent versions of office?

There are several factors that have to be set properly to get grammar
underlines:

- In Tools Options Spelling & Grammar, check the box for "Check
grammar as you type" and clear the box for "Hide grammatical errors in
this document".

- Make sure the style applied to the text doesn't have the "Do not
check spelling or grammar" attribute.

- Make sure the "Do not check spelling or grammar" attribute hasn't
been applied manually to the text through the Language Set Language
dialog.

None of this has to do with numbers of words -- as far as I'm aware,
there is no maximum. There is, however, a maximum sentence complexity
beyond which the grammar checker will display an error.
