I am recording daily turnover data. Occasionally alongside this I also
register some explanations for extraordinary events eg "new dealership opened
today"

The turnover data is then presented on a line chart using the "dynamic area"
technique (thanks for your help with that!).

Now I would like to show the verbal explanations in the graph too - I was
thinking of possibly adding another data series as bar-chart (bar hight being
constant at "max turnover + something" and then somehow get the explanations
displayed in those bars as labels - but so far unsuccessfully.

Any idea how to achieve this?

Hi,

For this you are going to have to show us your data layout and tell use
exactly what data you want to graph and what cell you are clicking to show
the chart.

Hi,

If you want comments beside your data points you can use the Data Labels
option. If the comments are in cells beside the appropriate data I would use
the XLChartLabeler add-in:

Hi,

You can do something using additional data series,
