Default reset button, create excel, import table, send e-mail, create back-up

i'm a teacher and developing a disciplinary database for
student infractions. i will be distributing the database
this year to other teachers so they can give me feedback
that i will be using in my master's project. i'm still a
novice user and am probably pushing beyond my abilities
at the moment, but i need to have the database ready to
go in two weeks and i've hit some proverbial roadblocks.
if anyone can help me with any (or all) the problems i
would greatly appreciate it. remember to use little
words for my sake

Problems:

1) i have a main form from which the user will be able
to navigate to all parts of the database. I did not use
the switchboard wizard, but if i understand correctly,
this form serves the same purpose as a switchboard. When
a user opens the database, i want this form to be the
only thing that appears on the screen. currently i have
it set up where that form is a pop-up and can be moved
independently of the Access window. I have also changed
the start-up options to deactivate "show database view".
if this is all i can accomplish then i guess it'll be
okay, but i don't want users to see the options on the MS
Access window. Hey these are teachers that aren't very
versed in computers much less MS Access...they're gonna
push buttons. P.S. i want to stay away from password and
user-level permissions for right now.

2) I want to include a "Reset" button on the form that
will delete all records in a table at the end of the
school year but not damage the database structure. How
do i do this? This is a feature i've been nervous about
experimenting with for fear of really screwing something
up. i'd rather do it right the first time.

3) I would like have a command button to take the data
in a table and create a Microsoft Excel workbook.
Essentially this would create a blank gradebook that
could be saved and modified independently of the
database. once the workbook is create it will have no
further interaction with the database.

4) I would like to set up a command button that would
allow the user to import data from another program into
an existing table (like Excel or a .txt file). Since
there's already a coded button in MS Access it doesn't
seem that it should be all that hard, i just don't do
where to find the code.

5) i would like users to send me e-mails if they have
problems. how would i include a command button that will
open the user's default mail and put my address in the
TO: section and a topic in the section?

6) i want to include a command button that will back-up
the database to disk. When the user clicks the button it
will ask the user to insert a disk into drive a: and save
the information. The database is small enough that it
should all fit on a disk, but wouldn't it be better if it
just saved the tables? How would i accompolish this?
Also it would be nice if every two weeks a form would
open with the database reminding teachers to back-up.

7) i've included a search records feature on certain
subforms. I just used the stock window that you get when
you press CTRL+F. I don't like the default settings that
come with the window. Can i change the default settings
of this window OR how hard would it be to design a
subform that would search for information that the user
inputs?

Okay i think that's it for now. I know it's long and a
lot of information to request. Again if you can offer
help on any of the problems that would be great. I am
using Access 97 on a Windows 95 platform.

thank you so much for your time.
