Footnotes in XP
Has anyone had the problem of viewing a footnote on the
screen? When you have a footnote reference mark and you hover on this mark, the footnote used to display in a yellow box above the number. Now, what is happening is when you hover on the number, it will show the comment style icon but it will not display the footnote. Sometimes the icon will just flash and then disappear. We do not want to go to the footnote section of the document because I am not editing, I just want to quickly view what I have typed. I have tried everything, the screen tips feature is turned on and I have had this work once and only once. Can anyone help with this? |

This is a known bug. The known workaround (sounds weird but works) is to
turn Document Map on and off. You'll have to do this once per document/session. -- Suzanne S. Side note--Perhaps this is already known, but I was just recently informed
that if you go into Doc Map, and it applies outline levels to your paragraphs (a feature/bug), this is apparent in the Undo List as a AutoFormat and can immediately be undone. On my tests, it seems Doc Map does not re-apply the outline levels to the same doc in continuing to switch between the two. DM On 7/22/04 4:30 PM, "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: This is a known bug.
