Default unable to write any text on msword document

dear sir,

Any thing i try to write into the document it is flashing me
a message that "this documenttation is not allowed because the document is
locked" . hence i request you to suggest me quickest possilble solution to
get rid of this problem.
I am a ms office user with version office12 .

Where are you seeing this message? Is a box popping up on the screen? Are you
seeing it at the bottom of the Word window? Is this with just one document, or
all documents, even new ones?

Office 12? The Office 2007 beta? Or is this really Office 2003? If so, have
you activated the program (Help | Activate Product)? Or is it a trial
version that has expired?
