Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
Outlook 2003 was not removed when I installed 2007 and it will not uninstall
with the windows program uninstaller or the tool provided on the 2003 installation disks. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems but I would still remove it if I could. Anyone have any suggestions? I haven't seen any posts on here that address this issue. |

Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
What happens when you try to remove it via the installer?
If the installer of Office 2003 got broken somehow, you can try to remove it via the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "TRVS_2000" wrote in message ... Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
A window pops up that says "The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it." I've tried the uninstall using the original 2003 disk and the windows uninstaller and get the same statement. Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
Use tje cleanup utility mentioned earlier, only select Outlook2003 from the
options. This will remove the installer files for outlook2003, it will not remove the product. you can then reinstall outlook and then remove it, or just delete the program files and shortcuts. Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
As I read the info on the "cleanup utility" it only removes installation
files and is usefull if an install went wrong and didn't complete. My 2003 version ran very well and had no problems, just didn't uninstall correctly when 2007 was installed. Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
diagnostics on 2007 says "a conflicting version of Outlook is installed....."
and there is still the icon in the Program Files. 2007 seems to be working just fine, just seems weird not to be able to remove 2003. It's about time for a new laptop so I may just let things ride until then and try to fix it when I migrate to the new laptop. Outlook 2003 did not uninstall when 2007 was installed
You are correct in the ONLY removes the installer files.
but that was your orig issue that outlook 2003 would not remove. removing the installer files allows you to do a new clean install of outlook 2003, you then can run the add/remove program and remove it. Additionally removing the installer files will allow you to install Outlook 2007 "TRVS_2000" wrote: diagnostics on 2007 says "a conflicting version of Outlook is installed....." and there is still the icon in the Program Files. 2007 seems to be working just fine, just seems weird not to be able to remove 2003. 2007 is installed and running normally. I don't really want to reinstall
2003 (wouldn't I need to uninstall 2007 to do that?).
