Paragraph format changes when save as pdf is used
Help. I need to save my Word 2007 document as a pdf, and everytime I try the
pdf comes up with a reformated set of paragraphs in the middle of the document. If I reset the format (and save it) and try to save the pdf again - it reformats the document again in the same spot. What am I doing wrong? -Sue |

Paragraph format changes when save as pdf is used
Hi Susan,
Is the paragraph Style applied to the problem text the same as for text that doesn't exhibit this problem? Are there Section breaks before/after the problem text? Is the problem text in a table? Is the problem text linked to another file? -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Susan Koziel" wrote in message ... Help. The paragraphs with out the problem are the same style as the one with the
problem. There are only two styles of paragraphs in the document - single spaced and double spaced. The paragraphs before and after come out the styles they are set at. The paragraph before the one that changes is single spaced, the one after is double spaced. I even tried deleting and entering the paragraph in question again with an extra paragraph mark between the one above the one that changes. No section break before the selected text, and no links to other files. There is a table before the single spaced paragraph. Then the paragraph that changes format (should be double spaced, comes out single spaced). Then a double spaced paragraph. After some more playing around with the document, I found a cross reference to the appendix seems to be causing the issue. If I get rid of the cross reference hyperlink and formating, and type it as text only then the problem is fixed - but then the area isn't listed as being a cross reference (as far as the hyperlinks and word is concerned. I also found that this happened in two spots on the document (one caused an extra page to be inserted). Both had the same fix (I got rid of the cross reference). This is odd, because I have other cross references throughout the document that are not causing any issues. Yet if I try to cross reference those same spots again (in the first case an appendix and the second a table) I have the same problem. Hi Susan,
Evidently the problem is related to the hyperlinked cross-references. I assume these are inserted as hyperlinks, rather than as the normal sort of cross-references Word uses. As a workaround, are you able to put these on a line of their own, in a separate paragraph from the rest of the text? -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Susan Koziel" wrote in message ... Paragraph format changes when save as pdf is used
I initally tried removing only the hyperlink. That didn't work. I've settled
on removing the cross-reference function for the two locations, and typing in the reference by hand. (I made notes of where I had to do this in case my last set of edits requires changes in those spots). What bothers me about this is that I have hyperlinked cross-references throughout the text, and the problem only happens in the two spots. Anyhow, thanks for your help... saddly there doesn't seem to be any other fix for this. -Sue "macropod" wrote: Hi Susan, Evidently the problem is related to the hyperlinked cross-references.
