Default "compact folder" crash

Define "crash". Are there any messages in Deleted Items you need? (There
shouldn't be).

Default "compact folder" crash

Suggestions? Sure!

From your headers: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000

You're running outdated and VERY unsecure versions of OE, IE, and Windows!
Get that computer fully patched before worrying about Outlook Express!

Robear,
Impressive response.
Somewhat off topic, but how are you fellows able to see the email headers in
the discussion group communications? I access them frequently in OE, but
don't see access to that info thru the discussion group format. Do you have
special software you use as OE experts to help in the discussions, or is
there a function to check to see all the header info?
Thanks,

Default "compact folder" crash

Even if it is a Win98 box running IE6 (not IE6 SP1), it's still not safe to
use online until you get it fully patched!

Default "compact folder" crash

You'd have to access the post in a newsreader (e.g., OE). The Properties of
the post tell the story. Here's the headers from one of the OP's posts:

Not only do the headers reveal his OE version (not MSIMN.EXE but two related
OE files), they also reveal what might be his real email address and his
posting IP [1]...which the BadGuys can "harvest" and use for nefarious
purposes.
