No problem Mary, glad to share.

Hello Phil,
I am so glad you worked it out. I will save this solution, someone may have the
same problem down the road.
Thanks for sharing, it is appreciated.

Hi Mary, thanks for your help. The Mapilab didn't help, and I didn't want to
convert to Word.

I did however clarify the problem enough that I can actually use Publisher
email merge.

It appears that only the "last" merge field is not converted to data. I
added three fields , and the first two filled correctly with data, but the
other remained as a merge field mergefield.

It also appears that this is because I didn't "leave" that field. If after I
drop the merge field I click outside of the text box, even that "last" merge
field fills correctly.

Problem for me at least is resolved.

Again thanks for the help Mary.

I am not an expert on email merges. I have a buddy that does this weekly but
he
uses Word without an issue.

Maybe merging the data field cells would be a solution for you.

There is a application that is linked from the Microsoft web site that could
be
helpful. It has a trial version. Looks promising.

Yes I did Mary.
I have the exact same problem as the others on this thread. I can add a
field from a database, and I can see it correctly in the email previews.
However when I send the emails, they all apear with the merge field name
e.g.
first name only instead of the content of the merge field "Phil" that I
saw a second ago in the preview.

out?

I'm using Publisher 2007 with the e-mail merge feature. In the email
preview, all my records look fine. But when I send the e-mails, they
contain the merge fields themselves name company name etc
instead of the merged data. I have several merge fields inserted
throughout my text box.
The only way I got anything to work correctly is to limit it to one
merge field early in a small, separate text box. But I want to
insert
other merge fields throughout my document.
I am using Outlook 2007, however I have a specific list created for
the merge so fields are not being merged from Outlook.
