Another Problem
Tried the PDF ... didn't work. Same result as printing.
"Ed Bennett" wrote in message ... Wayne wrote: I have a picture I placed to the edge of the page ..... the made a rectangle and faded the inside from white to clear and placed it over the picture which results in a nice fade of the picture to the edge of the paper ... well at least it sure does on screen. Problem is it just doesn't print whats on screen, instead it cuts off the picture where the rectangle was placed over the picture. Export the publication as a PDF and print that. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://ed.mvps.org |

Wayne, on the back side you need a space between CALL and OR...right now
it's CALLOR. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rob Giordano Microsoft MVP Expression "Wayne" wrote in message ... Rectangles along all 4 sides of the business card. 4 of them. The rectangles are filled with a gradient from white to clear to give the look of the picture having a nice fade out on the edge. Not a printer issue. ============================== OK...I get it now. Sounds like you could prepare this picture in an advanced image editing program and just soften the edges. If you would like to upload the file to YouSendIt I'll have a look. "YouSendIt" http://www.yousendit.com/ All you have to do is enter an e-mail address in the "To:" (Recipient) field and click the "Browse" button to select the file you wish to upload. Then click the "Send It" button. The next screen that appears will give you the download link. Just copy/paste it into your newsgroup reply. -- John Inzer MS-MVP Digital Media Experience Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

Think I got it .... http://www.yousendit.com/download/U0...bEp0d0d4dnc9PQ ======================================= I downloaded your project and I must be missing something...I don't see four rectangles I only see one. And there is a copy in the scratch area that can be deleted. Anyway...try grouping all the components (just drag a box around the whole project and click the lock). If this will not print...try saving the grouped project as a picture and reinsert it on a 3.5x2 blank and try to print that. If the graident is removed and all the components are grouped and saved as a picture...the edges can be softened in an editing program. Here's a test sample: https://www.yousendit.com/download/U...YWIzS3BFQlE9PQ Just add this picture to a blank 3.5x2. If all these fail...yes...you do have a printer problem. -- John Inzer MS-MVP Digital Media Experience Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

Was using File - Print - Then Adobe This runs it through Publisher's printing component, and thus encounters the same problems observed with other printers. Exporting as a PDF using Publisher's built-in PDF functionality semi-bypasses the printing component, and normally makes semitransparency work properly.
