On why I can't access my mail folders on my hard drive. OE6, Win 98 and
2000. I've gotten rid of spyware.. cleaned, swept, etc but still get a mssg
saying 'the requested file ..( path to the file) .. was not a valid font
file' Any help, links etc would be greatly appreciated.

What type of file are you attempting to access? What is its extension?

You cannot just open a DBX file and read it if that's your intention. In
any case, there's not enough info in your post to really be of much help.

I'm sorry - .dbx file ext and .. I know I lost my mail once and thought I
was able to recover mssgs by going to the folders on my hard drive. I don't
understand what the 'invalid font file' is all about. In any case thank you
for the response I'll take a look at the link

A dbx file is a database file and as such, is only readable when opened in
Outlook Express. There are utilities that can extract the contents of a DBX
file as individual eml files and that might be helpful to you. See the info
about DBXtract at this link for some information about it: www.oehelp.com
