Default absolute hyperlinks in excel 2002+ ??

I have a bunch of hyperlinks in a big spreadsheet that links to some
folders on our network. This spreadsheet needs to be both on the
network and on the intranet. As soon as its put on the intranet, excel
sees fit to change all the hyperlinks so that, even though people have
access to the network folders, the hyperlinks no longer point to them,
they point to some intranet folder that doesnt exist.

I've been trying for bluddy ages to force excel 2002 to KEEP the bluddy
links the same so that when its put on the intranet, they still point
to the right folders, but just cant do it. There used to be an option
when creating a hyperlink in old versions of excel where you could
select it to be an absolute path, its obviously vanished from 2002 so
how the hell are people meant to handle hyperlink paths??!?!?!?!?!

The HYPERLINK worksheet function enables you to type the link as a
literal string.
