Default Send Mail 452 Insufficient system storage error, Server Error 452

Well, something must be up with the application! Things are happening!

I now receive this error when attempting to send mail.
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '.
Subject 'Some Messages', Account: 'New Account', Server:
'outgoing.mycable.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '452
Insufficient system storage', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
452, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

I have edited the server and my address fields. But, the server name is
correct as is the address. Eventually, the message will send.

From what I have read about the error, it should not be happening
here....I don't think, anyway.

Anyone have ideas whether the error is caused by my PC or the server?

Thanks once again.
Joe

It is a server error. The server has responded that there is insufficient
system storage. Plain English, and pretty clear. How much storage capacity
is the account supposed to allow? What is the size of the largest message
the server is supposed to handle? How big is the message you are trying to
send? Keep in mind that for any outbound message which is not plain text
there is an overhead for MIME encoding of the file. Figure half again as
much file space as the message itself; IOW, the actual message should not
exceed 2/3s the maximum message size allowed for the account when sending
HTML, or attachments.

The error is that the mailbox is full. Not OE sending or receving or OE at
all, it's the mailbox on the ISP's server that is full or possibly a problem
that it can't store the message but more likely full.

If the person is leaving messages on the server, this means when OE (or any
other mail client reads the mail) it won't send the command that it's okay
delete the messages from the mailbox.

Use something like Magic Mail Monitor to check the contents of the mailbox.

Hi and Thanks for the reply.
I know it seems obvious but there are/were 4 very small replies to notes
there. I deleted them and created a plain text message to myself with
just one word as the entire message--same thing.

Googled it some more and found all kinds of issues surrounding this
error...even changed the outgoing port to no avail.

It must/may just be time to call the ISP Cable Company.

I will return with the results.

Hi
End result was that the ISP had server problems after all. They did what
they needed to do and now all the mail went as intended.
I appreciate the responses to the posting.
Thanks

Well, all that I can say for sure is, when a server responds with a number
other than 220, or similar, it is the server, not MSOE, that is having a
problem.

Googled it some more and found all kinds of issues surrounding this

Yes. And, in the future, give them the error message. They should know, by
that error, that their server is having the problem.

I will return with the results.

I see that you did. Nice to see that things were fixed up. Too bad that most
ISPs (mine, SBC, included) tend to avoid admitting that they are the party
with the problem.
