Default Outlook 2003 mapi32.dll error

You searched to include 'hidden' ?

I am having the same error message. I have done a complete search of my
computer and cannot find "MSMAPI32.DLL" or "MAPI32.DLL". Any suggestions?

Thank you so much! I too have been struggling with this very problem for

Oh my! I have been trying for weeks to get this corrected. I had
followed
every instruction I could find, including wasting money on a program
that
said it would fix this issue. I renamed all the other MAPI32.DLL files
as
other instructions her said to do, and they did not work. I ran the
mapifix
thing and it was totally useless. But this! This worked! THANK YOU

Try renaming the MSMAPI32.DLL to MSMAPI32.XXX. Then try starting
Outlook.

File is at \Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033 for english
systems.

I just installed Office 2003 from a disk and cannot open Outlook. I
get
this
error message instead:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the
wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging
software.
Please reinstall Outlook.

Reinstallation does not help. All other Office programs work fine.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks!

I am sorry and super frustrated to say that this renaming of the MAPI did not
work for me with the same problem.

Do you have a trial version of Office that you have failed to uninstall?

You renamed the wrong file. You should rename MSMAPI32.DLL
See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/137

Make sure that the other file is still on your system (named properly and in
its original location) or you might need to repair your Windows installation
now.
