Default Outline numbered style (starts at 2)

Hi,

I have created a Style that uses the Outline numbered
(ANNEXE 1). My document consist of a master document and
some sub-documents. In some sub-documents I have use the
Style with the Outline numbered. The problem is that my
first sub-document (inserted in the master document) that
uses the Style with the Outline numbered shows as ANNEXE
2 instead of ANNEXE 1. I can always restart the numbering
but I would like to know how come the numbering starts at
2 instead of 1. Thanks.

Check to see that you haven't used a lower level of the outline scheme
earlier in the document.
e.g. if you use heading 7 in the introductory paragraphs then the next time
you use heading 1 to start numbering the document itself it will start at 2 -
because Word is logical and assumes if you have used part of the numbering
scheme already then you want to start with the next sequential number.

Make sure numbering is set up according to the instructions at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...numbering.html.

Also, you should be aware that master documents are not reliable. For
more information, please see:
