Default Repagination - How do I stop it?

I will have several Word docs open, each open in Print Layout view. Then,
all of a sudden, Word will begin repaginating all of the documents. I have
to stop typing or scrolling until it stops (approx 5 - 10 secs). Can I
prevent this, other than going in Normal view? ...thanks

No, there's no way to stop Word from repaginating when in Print Layout view. I
do have to wonder, however, why all the documents would start repaginating at
the same time.

Which version of Word do you have? Are you working on a standalone/at home or
on a corporate network system?

Hi Cindy:

This occurs at work. Office is installed on my laptop, but I am coonected
to the corporate LAN. I have not attempted to duplicate this problem at
home, however. You are thinking that there is some global setting out of my
control, maybe?

Thanks for responding. I want to go to Switzerland!

I'm not really sure what might be causing it, but I think it would be a good
idea to contact your IT department. And inordinate amount of repagination in a
single file would indicate the file is damaged. But if all documents are doing
this simultaneously, something must be triggering it.

I have to wonder if there's an Addin that might be doing something (updating
all fields or all TOCs in documents, for example).
