Default Can't install MSO2007 Student & Home

I purchased MSO Student/Home got the "key" It downloaded an Icon (X12-30107)
I click on it and it started downloading the program...then got "ERROR 1406"
I hit ignore and it said the program was installed...BUT...there is no start
icon and if I click the X-12-30107 it just tries to down load the program
again...
I sent MS support a post and they sent me another download site...same
thing all over...and everytime I try to contact MSO2007 help it won't let me
finish the E-mail..says my "Key" is no good...and it is the one they issued...
I am really frustrated...
DO I have to uninstall the trial first???
Any help or advise will be appreciated..

Yes, you must uninstall the trial version of Office 2007 first.

Yes you have to uninstall any trial edition, run disk clean up to delete
temp files & reboot before trying again

I have a similar problem. Earlier this evening I bought the Office pack on
line and tried to download. 6 hours later and it's still failing. Error
1406. I've tried uninstalling the trial version but could not do that
either. Have tried the disc clean up. HOW can I access my new software?
Having just paid £100 for the joint package I don't want to pay another
£46.00 to get help on line!!!

You have to uninstall any trial edition together with the activation
assistant and reboot prior to installing any paid for version.
Use add/remove to uninstall, if that doesnt work
