Default Comical Situation

I recently bought a 3 license copy of Office 2007 at Staples for $ 149 and
installed it on three computers. I now have removed it from my old laptop and
attempted to activate it on a new laptop built by Lenova. After repeatedly
getting error message using the product activation key on the cd case, I
called Microsoft. Here's what I learned: The copy of Office you have is
licensed for India. You can run it on a computer in the United States after
an initial install but you can't uninstall and use it on other machine
here... this from support personel whose English is badly tainted.. What? A
fee of $49 for technical help? But I already paid $149... You mean a company
as successful as MS does not have a solution to help customers such as myself
who find themselves in this situation? So I was offered a phone number for
Lenovo... ooops turns out it's the wrong number
