Default Lost IE Nav Toolbar Menu Icons

My 'puter is a old Nec Ready-9945- OS is Win98SE & IE-6.0 & use OE-6.0
too.

I was experimenting with Cascade, Horizontal, & Vertical Tile options on
IE & then suddenly i lost all the small & large icons for "Home,
History, Forward, Back, Mail, Refresh", etc in IE 6.0's upper toolbar.
cannot find the problem.
i've undo'ed the all tile experiments but icon's do not return.

i've tried using ms-dos scandisk & scanreg utility fixes..no luck.
also, defragged the 8.5gig hard drive as well,... no luck either.

i can't find the IE repair utility option.
don't remember how to do that.
any help would be welcomed from someone who is knowledgable.

Thanks,

S_H
