Default Merging Excel to Word document


I have cells formatted for currency and some for percentage and they
look correct in Excel but when placed into form on Word the dollar
signs and percentages dissapear and just the numbers unformatted
appear. How to merge with integrity of dollars and percentages?

Excel stores the formatting separately to the actual data.
