Default Word 97 to 2000

I want to upgrade to office 2000 from Word 97, but I want to make sure that my macros and auto correct will transfer with upgrade. Does this happen automatically? Thanks

It does not, but you can back up your current settings. Macros are stored in
templates, probably your normal.dot template. You do not want to use the
normal.dot template from Word 97 in Office 2000 but rather transfer its
contents. See: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm,
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...utocorrect.htm, and
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm.

If you're upgrading on the same computer, installing Word 2000 over Word 97,
then yes, all your customizations will be saved, including macros and
AutoCorrect entries.

Now I am confused. Does Word 2000 transfer all Macros and AutoCorrect from Word 97 or not?

If you upgrade an existing installation, all your personalisations are
transferred. If you want to be certain that you don't lose anything then see
