Connectors Breed?

Got a few shapes with connectors between them.

When I start moving shapes around, I have tb careful bc if I
overlap things the wrong way, additional connectors seem to
appear out of nowhere and attach themselves to the shapes.

Seems like it must be an Options setting.

But which one?
