Default General Q re Office 2007 apps

Can Office 2007 apps (Word, Excel, PPT, etc) "save as" in formats compatible
with their Office 2003 versions?

There's also the Office 2007 compatibility pack that users of prior versions
can install to allow them to open Office 2007 documents direct. (One upside
of this is that they also get all the new fonts that are in 2007....)
