Default Unable to Install Office 2003

I'm unable to install Office 03 on my newest laptop. Nothing happens when I
load the disc - the LED stays on and nothing is displayed in the cd directory
- it's as if there's no cd in the drive at all. The disc is fne because the
directory displays when I insert it into other machines

I don't currently have any versions of office on this machine. I suspect
it's because I've installed it on 3 other machines (the max), but one of the
other laptops has died and is unusable, so I'd like to put it on the one I
just purchased.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Your laptop is failing to read the Office 2003 install CD. It has nothing
to do with licensing. Do other CDs work in the laptop? If you have a local
area network you can insert the CD into another computer, share it from
there, map it as a network drive from the laptop, and then install
successfully.

New Laptop?
It appears to have a hardware problem that requires rectifying under the
warranty
