Form Blinks or flashes when mouse over label
I have a very odd problem in Access 2003. On a particular form when I pass
the mouse over a label, the whole screen blinks. It seems to re-display. I re-created the label but the same thing happens. The screen is a tabbed screen but I cannot see how that would cause a problem. In 10 years of using Access, I have never seen it before. Anyone else seen the problem? |

Yes, this is a known problem with Access 2003 on Windows XP.
You can solve the problem by setting your Windows XP Theme to Classic (right-click the desktop), which does not look how most people want. The alternative is to change all the attached labels whose parent is not the form (e.g. they are in an option group, or on the page of a tab control) into text boxes that look like labels. There's some code to locate and change all affected controls in your database in this article: Flicker with tab controls at: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-46.html -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP. Thanks Allen. I have mainly developed in A2000 so this one was new to me.
Thanks again for the prompt response. "Allen Browne" wrote: Yes, this is a known problem with Access 2003 on Windows XP.
