Creating a booklet
I am trying to do an Order of Worship using Publisher 2000 for our church. I
would like to be able to type the pages in their correct order so that when we are ready to print, they will be exactly as they should be. I tried this as a test in Publisher and it doesn't seem to be working. I will end up with an 8-page document contaning a cover (picture) page on the first page and a preprinted page on page 8. In other words, I will have 3 actual typed pages and two pre-printed ones. I expected Publisher to know that the opposite of page 2 would be page 7, but it didn't do that, it came out page 3. Can anyone set me straight on how to do this? -- Marj |

You need to go to File Page Setup (Special Fold ) Book Fold. This should then automatically position your pages on the paper when you go to print -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |

Creating a booklet
Are you setting up the page as a booklet? This does not happen in Publisher if your
publication is setup as a booklet. File, page setup, special fold...landscape. If you are using legal or tabloid size paper you will have to setup your printer before you create your document. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Marj" wrote in message ... Marj,
You need to set your booklet as eight pages. If some pages already have text on them when they go into the printer, make those page blank in the Publisher file. My response is influenced by your word "preprinted" meaning to me there is text on the paper you plan to use as the booklet. -- Don Vancouver, USA "Marj" wrote in message ... This should then automatically position your pages on the paper when you go to print -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher I did set it up this way, and this is the way it should set up: p1 is a picture, p2 is text, p3 is more text, etc., and then the last page p8 has preprinted text on it, so I use the inside of that sheet as page 2 and 7, and then I want to do 3 and 4, and then 5 and 6 on another sheet. Does this make sense to you? It is a church Order of Worship or bulletin. When it is ready to print I will print pages 2 and 7 on the back of 1 and 8 (which are preprinted). But this is not how it comes out. Maybe I am expecting too much of the program. But in Help it leads me to believe I can do this. As it is now, p2 is opposite p3. Could it be that in order for this to work I have to start out with 8 pages in the beginning? I started with 4 pages and then added 4 more. |

Pages 2 and 3 will appear next to each other on screen, but will print in the correct positions. Can you ZIP your document and email it to the UNDERSCORE nerd AT mvps DOT org, so I can check the setup? Thanks. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |
