i used to use outlook express for all of my email purposes. i also used it
to access usergroups, such as this one. i am actually on express right now
to access this group. since i have converted my email to outlook, i would
also like to be able to access usergroups on outlook. i currently have to
open express to use these user groups. how do i subscribe to user groups on
outlook vs. outlook express? thanks, mike allen

Outlook uses Outlook Express to access newsgroups. Use the web based
newsreader instead of OE if you want.

There are a few add-ins (At cost) that now allow this.
Try
MapiLab
http://www.mapilab.com/
and
NewsLook
http://www.ghytred.com/NewsLook/about.aspx

You can still use OE solely for News with the /outnews command-line switch
which disables email. This is the traditional way to do it and many prefer
it.

Aaaaaarrrrgh! WHY would you recommend ANYONE to use the horrible web-based
interface over a news reader?
