Default installation source for this product is not available

I have been getting script error messages in outlook 2003. I tried to run the
detect and repair, setting everything to default settings. The error messages
I get Reads"The installation source for this product is not available.Verify
source exists and that you can access it." Now I can't even open Outlook
anymore. The program states "The operation failed due to an installation
problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please
reinstall." When try to run the Office 2003 the auto run goes directly to the
cd directory and displays its contents. Any suggestions? Schreiner at

You don't mention what operating system you have, but you might try using
the LISTool to delete any remnants of the Local Installation Source
(MSOCache). This should let you use your original Office 2003 media to
uninstall/reinstall and patch like a mad hatter.

I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007. After having a problem
with Outlook I ran diagnostics. Diagnostics indicated I have a conflict with
another Outlook program. I tried to remove Outlook 2000 but come up with the
message "The installation sourse for this product is not available. Verify
that the sourse exists and that you can access it." What is LISTool? How do
I run it?
