Default Attachement field in linked tables

This isn't really a question, only an observation. I have been using the new
attachment field in Access 2007 with much success, but I noticed some strange
behavior when I tried to replace an ole object holding a small picture of a
student with an attacment field for the same purpose. When I create a table
with an attachment field in my backend database and then link to it in my
front end database, everything work swimmingly. Howerver, if I add an
attachment field to a table in the backend that is already linked to the
front end, the field name shows up in the front end, and can be added to
forms, reports and such, but doesn't seem to work at all. I was able to fix
this by deleting the table in the front end and then reconnecting it (as I am
writing this I realize that i may have just had to refresh the link in the
linked table manager). Has anyone else experienced this odd behavior?

When you link a table, the connection info, table structure, password, etc,
are stored so Jet can connect to the linked table. This info's *never*
updated.

If you make any changes to the table, db, password, etc, you have to delete
the link, then relink to get the latest link info saved in the front end db.

Normally, if you add, say, a text field to your back end table, you can
access it via the linked table in the front end immediately. You don't have
to delete and recreate the link. I just thought it odd that you have to do
that in order to use an attachment field.

In all previous versions of Access, modifying the linked table in any way
didn't update the connection/link info saved in the front end. You had to
delete the link and create a new one to get the current version of the linked
table.

I don't have Access 2007 installed on this pc to verify your finding that
some changes in linked tables automatically get updated in the front end, but
I know if you add or remove a db password in the back end in Access 2007,
that *doesn't* get updated in the link info saved in the front end.
