Security question when Hotsyncing after installing Office SP3
It is opart of the outlook security package and cannot be disabled. The
intention was to let you kno if a virus is trying to gain access to your contacts and sending it self out. "Lars-Erik Østerud" .@. wrote in message ... After I installed MS Office SP3 I get an annoying questions each time I "Hotsync" my Palm desktop (I use norwegian Office, but I'll guess it would be something like this in the english version of Office 2000): "A program tried to access e-mail adresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to permit this? If this is unexpected it might be a virus, and then you should choose "No" - Allow access for (select minutes)" 1) Why does this come each time I "hotsync" (Hotsync is no virus) 2) Is there a way to tell Outlook that "hotsync" is allowed ALWAYS This message really annoy me, and I'd like to get rid of it :-) PS! Is it a possibilty to replace the file that asks this question with an older one (before it start asking) to get rid of it? -- Lars-Erik - http://home.chello.no/~larse/ - ICQ # 7297605 Win98se, Asus P4PE, 2.53 GHz, Asus V8420 (Ti4200), SB-Live! |

Palm has an upgrade that will stop the prompt. Get it from their site.

Due to the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. It would be best to chck with Palm on their products. MS rollded out SP2
with more then enough notice it was going to happen. It is up to the third party vendors to update the products to allow compability with the OS. "Lars-Erik Østerud" .@. wrote in message ... I am afraid that is one of the drawbacks of running older software. When
Palm OS is up to version 5 or 6 (not sure about the current version), support for older versions such as 3.x is dropped. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
