Outlook 2003 Send Button freezes

My colleague seems to have this problem off and on. Sometimes, when
she clicked the Send button, the email just hanged. However, she can
go to the Inbox, Outbox etc. When she wants to delete it from the
Outbox, there is an error message saying that we can't delete the
email as it is in the process of sending.

We are using Microsoft Windows XP service pack 2. We are also using
AVG 8 with email scanner on.

Does anyone has any suggestion what could have gone wrong?

First turn off the AVG scanning of email. It often causes problems like
what you are seeing.
