Default Cannot select 'Search Subfolders' for Shared Mailbox or Public Fol

I am unable to search subfolders in outlook 2007 on a shared mailbox (unless
I am an owner of) or within Public Folders. The option to do so is simply
grayed out.

From outlook: Tools\Instant Search\Advanced Find\Browse

Searching on the web did not reveal much of a solution other than to install
third party software to aid the Windows Desktop Search functionality. This
unfortunately is not something I would like to do.

Any ideas in how to overcome the grayed out search subfolders option would
be great.

Thank you,
JBug
