Any way to recover *.dbx files that were accidentally written over when switchin
I had two identities that were set up for two mail
accounts on Outlook Express. Both accounts pointed to the same directory for storing mail messages. I recently created a third identity for a new mail account. I wanted to point this new account to the same directory as the other two for storing mail messages. When I did that (via Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder), I must not have been paying attention to the dialog box, because the next time I logged in with one of the older accounts, all my stored mail messages were gone! The program must have overwritten my old *.dbx files with the ones created for the new account. Is there a way I can recover the old *.dbx files? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Trang |

No. Or at least not very likely. If your old files were overwritten, the
only way I can think of to recover them (and it's only a possibility) would be by using DBXPress from www.oehelp.com and it's not a free program. I'm making an assumption that you've already conducted a file search for files ending with DBX and have found none other than the ones in your present message store folder. -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. Just saw your question - just happened to me too - I'm
looking for answers. Trang - did you find any way to recover these files? Anyone else?? -----Original Message----- I had two identities that were set up for two mail accounts on Outlook Express.
