Adjusting the Alert Volume

I have a hearing problem - with most music and speech I can discypher what is
going on but some tones I can not hear. This is an issue with the alerts in
Outlook. I recently started using the 2007 and this has been a huge issue,
the alerts on 2003 were louder and more distinct. How can I adjust the
volume? And if that isn't an option are there alert downloads that would
work better?

The volume is set in the wav file but you can change the alerts to sounds
you can hear better.
