What can I do ? Is the problem in creation of the hyperlinks or in their use? For creation I would use Insert / Hyperlink and type the URL into the first box. For use - does double-clicking a similar jpg file in Windows explorer behave differently? Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England No email replies please - respond to newsgroup |

If I open the same *.jpg from explorer (local), starts the standard program for pictures I linked with the *.jpg. OK ! I am not an expert in hyperlinks or JPGs. On my Excel 97 if I create a hyperlink to a .jpg it opens Micrsoft Photo Editor which is the program associated with .jpg in Windows Explorer / View / Folder Options / File Types. With Excel 2003 on Windows XP the same test using a Hyperlink in Excel to a .jpg showed the picture in Internet Explorer. On that system, JPG is associated with Windows Picture and Viewer, which is what double-clicking a JPG in Windows Explorer loads. On each machine on which the program opened is different from your expectations, what versions of Excel and Windows, what program is opened, and what is associated with .jpg in Windows Explorer (presumably the program you wanted to use)? Google turned up some relevant information.
